About

Michael Angeles

I'm Michael Angeles. I've had a few titles in my day, from front end developer, information architect, interaction designer, to UX and Product Designer. I was the product designer at Balsamiq for 15+ years and co-wrote Wireframing for Everyone. Now I build products with Claude Code and am sharing how I do that so that others can do the same.

This site holds my design notes. For years I wrote 2 blogs (iaslash and konigi) about design work, specifically IA/IXD/UX. I was an advocate and evangelist on the process of doing early-stage ideation using sketching and wireframing. More recently, however, I've shifted my practices to include prototyping and building with generative coding tools, from web-based tools like bolt.new, lovable.dev and Gemini to working directly in command line interfaces with Claude Code. I've been the most successful with the latter, and this is where my focus is now.

I'll be dropping essays on design thinking, links to tools I use, and occasional tutorials on shipping products with AI, using some of my own projects to show rather than tell how I'm doing it. In the process, I also write about how to bring your human experience and knowledge to bear without putting all your trust and faith into AI. The pattern of skipping the thinking and jumping straight into executing first ideas in code or in Figma comps is very similar. AI tools are amazing accelerators, but I'm sure the goal for most of us isn't to ship the wrong thing fast.

Things I'm working on (fodder for demos):

Klarita (SaaS), Motivist (iOS), The DJ Kit (Bespoke CMS), housemusic.is (Static Site), and FLYR.STUDIO (Web Utility) — all built with Claude Code, zero lines of code written by hand. I'll use these to help explain what I'm exploring and teaching here.

Work with me

I do 1:1 pair sessions and workshops for teams. If you want to get more out of Claude Code as a designer or solo founder, get in touch.
